Demonstrating the Efficacy of Open Educational Resources on Student Success Outcomes

Presentation at the Open Education Conference 2025

WICHE Policy Analyst Kate Baca and Liliana Diaz Solodukhin, Colorado Department of Higher Education Senior Director of Student Success and P20 Alignment, presented original research on time-to-credential completion for students who participated in OER and no-cost/low-cost credits at the Open Education Conference.

The session brought together Open Educational Resource practitioners, decision-makers and researchers and discussed research highlighting that students who participated in no-cost/low-cost and OER credits were more likely to complete a credential. The presentation slides are available here as well as the openly licensed codebook used for the project.
